When construction workers needed reliable footwear on the job in the 1900s, they turned to this classic silhouette largely because the wedge rubber outsole was said to grip onto steel better than other options. We pay homage to this design's history by pairing a new take on the silhouette with exclusive leather uppers, stitched stitchdown construction, full vachetta leather insoles, leather shanks, counters, and box toe reinforcements, Starfit heel pad, and Vibram® Christy wedge outsoles. Handcrafted in small batches by our most senior artisans.

Custom development with our friends at Horween, combining our Black Coffee leather concept with the famous century old hot-stuffing Chromexcel tannage. Prized for its unique pull-up effect, where natural oils rise to the surface and create beautiful depth and tonal variation with wear. It’s renowned for its durability, rich feel, and ability to develop a supple, character-filled patina over time.
