When we first started Thursday our materials were mostly off the shelf, but since then we've updated nearly everything to rigorously tested custom materials to ensure they stand the test of time — and that they only get better with age.

Gold-Standard Construction

Poor construction will make your boots fall apart a lot sooner and will make them less water-resistant — so unless you like walking around with wet socks, make sure you check the construction method! While all of our men's line is made with quality construction methods, most of our boots feature Goodyear welt construction, the gold standard for footwear. It's more expensive and technically complex (which is why it's used in less than 1% of shoes globally), but it ensures longevity and creates a virtually waterproof seal at the insole so you can enjoy your boots for years to come.

Durable and Versatile

Most boots qualify as either a "clunky work boot" or a "delicate fashion boot." We recommend looking for a pair that falls in the middle ground: boots that are durable enough for everyday wear but stylish enough for special occasions. The lack of options in this middle ground is actually what led us to start Thursday, and we put an enormous amount of effort into making sure our boots are ready for wherever the day takes you.
